Butter Almond Toffee Cookies

Serves: 16-20 people

Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup butter (around 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 sticks of butter)
- 1/3 cup toffee bits
- 1/3 cup finely chopped almonds
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 to 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda

Directions:
1. Set your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Take out a mixing machine and blend together the sugar, egg, vanilla, and butter on medium speed. Make sure you scrap the sides of the bowl often to get all the mixture sticking to the sides of it!
3. Once your mixture is creamy and smooth, turn your mixing machine to low speed and begin adding in your flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix them well.
4. Stir in your toffee bits and chopped almonds by hand until everything is thoroughly blended together.
5. Take rounded teaspoons and shape them into balls onto a cooking sheet. Make sure to place them about 3-4 inches apart.
6. Flatten the cookies with the palm of your hand until they are only about 1/2 an inch thick.
7. Bake your cookies for about 10-15 minutes.
8. When your cookies are done cooking, place them on a cooling rack for about 7 minutes.
9. Brush the tops of your cookies with sugar so that they look shiny.
10. Finally, put out your cookies on a huge plate and dig in!
